Bike Tracks & Pumptracks

How to build mountain bike tracks!

Because we have nearly 25,000hours experience on our machines and are competitive mountain bikers ourselves we can create a unique riding experience. Construction of mountain bike trails is done with a Dingo or Digger combination, leaving a max tread width of 1m wide or less.  As the trail is ridden more and more the width reduces and all you are left with is single track!

The machines we use leave little damage to the environment and each trial constructed looks like is has been there for years!

Check out what we have built around Hawkes Bay (Napier, Hastings & Havelock North). We have worked on a variety of volunteer trail projects prior to establishing ourselves professionally.  Mainly Eskdale mountain bike park where we built the downhill track, Cannonball Lector & have completed many modifications to existing tracks. Our volunteer work not only lets us contribute back to the communities in which we’ve live but also helped hone our skills.

SERVICES

Consultation:

Consultation on any aspect of your trail proposal is available – from design to construction to routine maintenance. Our combined years of experience in landscaping, excavation and trail building experience help when preparing the proposal and to incorporate structures or skills areas

Design: We can design a trail that suits the area, offers scenic benefits plus cater for a range of trail users at the same time. Taking into account the lay of the land and scenic/boundaries produce a trail system that will sustain years of designated use with minimal maintenance. Potential users include walkers, hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, and even equestrians.

Construction:

Building on the sustainable design of the trail system using 10% slope and other essential gradient rules, we construct your trails from start to finish. We have the knowledge and experience to build a trail using mechanized tools and by hand. Our primary tools are dingo & mini digger, the clinometer, and an experienced eye. We take into account natural features and build the track to incorporate these points of interest and aim to construct flowing sweet single track. We can also construct bridges, skills areas, retaining walls, burms and flagstone armouring if necessary.

Volunteer Construction:

Many public projects require matching funds for grant money purposes. We can provide the professional services like construction while also supervising your work crew to match the monies through volunteer labour.
